ACC to probe Biman Director Mominul for graft, undeclared assets
Mominul, who was serving as director (administration and human resources), has recently been transferred to the post of director (procurement and logistic support).

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to investigate Mominul Islam, a director of Bangladesh Biman Airlines, over allegations of corruption, abuse of power, and acquisition of undisclosed wealth.
ACC Deputy Director Md Aktarul Islam told reporters today (17 September) that after verifying the complaints, the matter has been referred to the Special Investigation Subdivision for inquiry.
Mominul, who was serving as director (administration and human resources), has recently been transferred to the post of director (procurement and logistic support).
According to ACC sources, while serving as director (administration), Mominul Islam allegedly wiped out two investigation reports (from 2006 and 2022) against him, which were held by the airline's central investigation branch.
The complaints further allege that he amassed illegal wealth through corrupt means, including constructing a luxurious house, maintaining bank balances worth tens of crores, and conducting share transactions. He reportedly owns seven air-conditioned superior coaches valued at approximately Tk10 crore on the Dhaka-Kushtia route.
The allegations also state that as the director (administration), he amended the travel allowance policy, causing the institution a loss of nearly Tk1.5 crore. Additionally, in violation of administrative orders, he illegally disbursed $16,185.60 to airline engineers as TA/DA.
Mominul could not be reached for a comment on the matter as his mobile phone was found switched off.
