The Constitution Reform Commission held discussion with 16 organisations on issues related to constitutional reforms.

The discussion was held in the cabinet room of the National Parliament Building in Dhaka today.

According to a release, 31 participants from these 16 organisations attended the discussion.

The commission head Professor Ali Riaz, members Professor Sumaiya Khair, Barrister Imran Siddique, Professor Mohammad Ekramul Haque, Dr Sharif Bhuiyan, Barrister M Moin Alam Firozi, and Firoz Ahmed, among others, were present at the discussion.

The participating organisations included the Bangladesh Adibashi Forum, Association for Land Reform in Bangladesh, Bangladesh National Woman Lawyers' Association, River and Delta Research Centre, Women with Disabilities Development Foundation, Campaign for Popular Education, Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers Association, Naripokkho, Bangladesh Islamic Law Research and Legal Aid Centre, Human Rights Support Society, Ain o Salish Kendra, Change Initiative, Bachte Shekha, Consumers Association of Bangladesh, Hindu Religious Welfare Trust, and Bangladesh Intellectual Movement.

The commission will continue to hold discussions with various individuals and organisations.

At the beginning of the discussion, one minute of silence was observed in memory of students and citizens who lost their lives in the July-August student-mass uprising, with well-wishes offered for the speedy recovery of the injured.
