CNG driver killed after bus hits vehicle in Farmgate

A CNG autorickshaw driver was killed after a bus hit his vehicle in Dhaka's Farmgate area on Tuesday (8 April), raising fresh concerns over road safety in the capital.
The deceased was identified as Mamun Foraji, 33.
The accident occurred around 12:30pm under the Tezturi Bazar footbridge, according to witnesses. Locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead at around 1:15pm.
An eyewitness, Kazi Faisal, said a bus belonging to Labbaik Paribahan struck Mamun's CNG, leaving him critically injured at the scene. Passersby later transported him to the hospital.
Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the police camp at DMCH, confirmed the death, adding that the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy.
Mamun hailed from Charfesson upazila in Bhola. His father's name is Sekandar Foraji, according to his driving licence. He had been living in the Hirajhil area of Siddhirganj in Narayanganj.
Police are investigating the incident.
