CMP restricts sale of iftar items on streets
The law enforcers have been told to take legal action if anyone violates the CMP directives during Ramadan
Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has restricted cooking and selling iftar items on the streets and footpaths of the port city during the upcoming month of Ramadan to avoid public gathering.
To maintain social distancing to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus during Ramadan, the CMP issued six directives on Friday.
People will not be allowed to have iftar at restaurants or any kind of eateries, as per the directive. Also, they will have to buy iftar items while maintaining social distance and leave the place after that.

No ifter item can be sold after 6pm and people will not be allowed to arrange iftar parties. Also, they will not be allowed to distribute iftar items without the authorities' permission.
Confirming the issue to The Business Standard, CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (public relations) Abu BakkarSiddique said, "Several teams of police will be on duty to implement these instructions."
"They have also been told to take legal action if anyone violates the directives. The instructions will remain in force until further notice."
