Citizens panic as smoke billows from Pilkhana, turns out to be waste burning

A brief panic swept through the capital's Pilkhana and adjacent areas today (22 October) after locals spotted smoke billowing into the sky — prompting whispers of yet another "fire incident".
However, closer inspection and a photo from a high-rise showed the smoke originated from a pile of burning waste.
Many netizens criticised the move as irresponsible, as smoke from open fire could be harmful for those living nearby.
Also, many said the timing could not have been worse, as people are gripped with fear amid recurrent fires in different places in the country.
