Child dies after falling into water from tourist boat in Tanguar Haor

A five-year-old boy drowned after falling into the water from a tourist boat in Tanguar Haor of Tahirpur upazila in Sunamganj today (15 August).
The deceased, Masum, son of Kabir Ahmed from the Sheikhghat area of Sylhet, had gone on a family trip to the scenic wetland.
Tahirpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Delwar Hossain said the incident occurred around noon when the family was sightseeing in the haor.

Following the incident, members of the fire service, police, and locals launched a search operation.
A diving team led by Tahirpur Fire Service and Civil Defence Station Officer Md Forid Hossain recovered Masum's body around 4:30pm.
OC Delwar said the body has been handed over to the family.
