Ctg app: Port city dwellers can now report city problems

The Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) is set to launch a mobile application named "Amader Chattogram" to improve citizen services through digitalisation.
The app, developed under a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by Eastern Bank Limited (EBL), aims to enable residents to report city-related issues directly to the authorities.
Mayor Shahadat Hossain shared the update during the city corporation's budget session held at the Theatre Institute in the city on 23 June.
Through the app, city dwellers will be able to report problems such as open manholes, road potholes, waste mismanagement, and waterlogging by submitting detailed complaints along with photos.
The app will also allow users to access various types of city-related information and useful weblinks.
Mayor Shahadat Hossain said, "Our designated officers will be responsible for continuous monitoring of the app. I will also be able to see citizen messages in real time. Information received through the app will be forwarded to the relevant department."
City Corporation Secretary Ashraful Alam told The Business Standard, "The app is ready. Only some data input is pending, such as assigning responsibility for different types of complaints. If the designated officer does not respond, it will automatically escalate to the next level."
He added that EBL is preparing the app under their own supervision using CSR funds.
Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Mohammad Tauhidul Islam of the city corporation said, "The app will be launched very soon on Google Play Store and App Store. We hope this will bring greater transparency and accountability in resolving citizen issues."
