Case filed over petrol bomb explosions at Gazipur resort

A case has been filed under the Explosives Act following the explosion of two petrol bombs at a resort in Gazipur's Kaliganj on Monday (26 May).
According to police and local sources, the explosions occurred at the Nisorgo Resort, located in the Kuchlibari area of Nagari union, with one detonating around 2am and the second around 4am.
Resort staff managed to quickly extinguish the fire, and no major damage or injuries were reported.
"The resort is in a remote area, which the attackers exploited. A case has been filed, and operations are underway to identify and arrest the perpetrators," Gazipur Superintendent of Police Chowdhury Mohammad Jaber Sadeq told The Business Standard on Thursday (29 May).
On Wednesday, Abdul Wadud, a retired army officer serving as the resort's duty officer, lodged the case at Kaliganj Police Station.
Police later visited the site and recovered glass fragments, petrol-filled glass bottles tied with twine, and a plastic jerrycan.
Wadud believes the incident might have been an act of intimidation. "Someone may have done this to scare us."
According to the case document, unknown individuals threw the first petrol bomb on the eastern side of the resort, followed by another explosion inside the lobby of a two-storey building. The fire was brought under control by on-duty Ansar personnel.
