Cabinet Division relieved of 15 August observance duties
The Cabinet Division also issued a gazette regarding the change

The Cabinet Division has been relieved of its responsibility for observing 15 August as National Mourning Day.
A notification issued on tonight (14 August) amended the Rules of Business, removing the provision that assigned this task to the Cabinet Division.
The Cabinet Division also issued a gazette regarding the change.
Previously, Item 9A under the Cabinet Division in the "Rules of Business Allocation of Business Among the Different Ministries and Divisions" included the observance of 15 August, the day marking the martyrdom of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family, as a National Mourning Day.
The gazette states that under the powers of Article 55(6) of the constitution, the president has amended the 1996 Rules of Business, deleting the relevant entries under Item 9A of the Cabinet Division.
On 13 August last year, the interim government announced the cancellation of observing eight national days, including 15 August, commemorated as National Mourning Day.
