BYD launches upgraded 'Atto 3' electric SUV in Bangladesh

Global electric vehicle giant BYD has unveiled the upgraded version of its popular SUV, the "Atto 3", bringing a new push to Bangladesh's EV market.
The launch event was held today (20 September) at BYD's flagship showroom in the capital's Tejgaon, reads a press release.
According to the press release, the new Atto 3 is powered by BYD's lithium iron phosphate Blade Battery, which supports DC fast charging from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Built on the advanced e-Platform 3.0, the SUV has also secured a prestigious 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
Safety and comfort features include seven airbags, ventilated front seats, and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). The upgraded version also introduces a Thomas Black premium interior, black headlamps, 18-inch tires, bold rim design, and an improved 12V low-voltage battery.
Two variants are available in Bangladesh: the Standard Range, offering 345km per charge at Tk4.99 million, and the Extended Range, offering 420km per charge at Tk5.59 million.
Customers will also receive extensive warranty coverage — eight years or 1,60,000km for the battery, eight years or 1,50,000km for the motor and controller, and six years or 1,50,000km for the vehicle.
Speaking at the event, BYD Bangladesh Chief Marketing Office (CMO) Imtiaz Nausher said, "Bangladesh is now ready for electric vehicles. However, ensuring nationwide charging network accessibility is crucial.
"For this, we are working closely with the government, stakeholders, and policymakers."
The launching ceremony was attended by Hafizur Rahman Khan, chairman of CG Runner BD Ltd, as chief guest, along with BYD Bangladesh Head of Sales Fahmid Ferdous, Strategy & Digital Manager Shahnuma Sharmin, and other officials.
The event also featured a live demo and interactive session where BYD experts highlighted the SUV's new features. To give customers a first-hand experience, BYD will host "Atto 3 Week" from 21 to 25 September at the showroom, the release added.
