BWDB Engineers’ Association forms advisory council, convening committee

An Advisory Council and a 31-member Convening Committee of the BWDB Engineers' Association, the professional body representing engineers employed at the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB), were officially formed on 4 August.
Engineer Md Rafius Sajjad, Chief Engineer (Civil), Central Zone, Dhaka, has been appointed as the Convenor. Engineer Md Shahjahan Siraj, Additional Chief Engineer (Civil), Mid-Western Zone, Faridpur, has been named Joint Convenor. Engineer Abu Saleh Mohammad Tofahel Chowdhury, Superintending Engineer (Civil), BWDB Training Institute, Bhagyakul, will serve as the Member Secretary.
In addition to the Convening Committee, a 7-member Advisory Council has also been constituted.
The Association aims to protect the legitimate rights and interests of BWDB engineers, address professional challenges, provide policy advice, enhance technical skills, foster mutual cooperation and harmony, and contribute meaningfully to the overall development of the organisation.
The formation of both committees follows a resolution adopted during a general meeting held on 21 July, which was attended by engineers from across the organisation. At the meeting, members unanimously pledged to advance the Association through unified and collaborative efforts.
