BSIA launches South Korea roadshow to boost semiconductor collaboration

The Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) has begun its "South Korea Roadshow 2026" today (11 May), aiming to strengthen semiconductor collaboration between Bangladesh and South Korea.
The four-day roadshow, taking place from today to Thursday (14 May) in South Korea, will bring together leaders from industry, academia, research, commercialisation platforms and government, according to a press release.
During the visit, the Bangladesh delegation will engage with key organisations across Korea's semiconductor ecosystem through strategic meetings, technical discussions, networking sessions and partnership-building initiatives.

The discussions will focus on semiconductor packaging, AI hardware, design, testing, commercialisation and emerging technologies.
Participating Korean stakeholders include SK hynix, HANA Micron, Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, KAIST Global Commercialisation Center, ETRI, McKinsey & Company, Korea Design House, KoolMicro, Y-Tech, SuperGate, Nepass, Synic Solution, Pines and Growth Associates, among others.
A major highlight of the roadshow will be the signing of a Letter of Intent among the Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association, the Center of Research Excellence in Semiconductor Technology of Bangladesh, and the Global Commercialisation Center of KAIST, South Korea.
The collaboration aims to promote joint semiconductor research, talent and student development, researcher and knowledge exchange, shared infrastructure collaboration and technology commercialisation initiatives.
The Bangladesh delegation includes representatives from BSIA member companies, Purdue University and the Embassy of Bangladesh in Korea.
"This roadshow reflects Bangladesh's growing commitment to building a globally connected semiconductor ecosystem," said M A Jabbar, president of BSIA.
"Our objective is to learn from Korea's remarkable semiconductor journey while building meaningful long-term partnerships in research, talent development, commercialisation and industrial collaboration," he added.
The roadshow is part of the broader Silicon River vision, an initiative focused on advancing Bangladesh's semiconductor and deep-tech ecosystem through global engagement, innovation, talent development and strategic partnerships.
