Body of missing minor ship worker recovered from Karnaphuli after 3 days
Riadul worked as a labourer for Monir Enterprise, where he was engaged in loading and unloading fish from vessels.
The body of a minor ship worker was recovered from the Karnaphuli River last night (7 January), three days after he went missing while working on a vessel in Chattogram's Karnaphuli upazila.
The deceased was identified as Riadul Haque alias Jisan, 15, son of Md Helal of Ichhanagar village under Charpatharghata Union of Karnaphuli upazila.
According to police and locals, the body was found around 9:30pm yesterday after it became entangled in fishing nets near Dangarchar Ghat No. 9 in Karnaphuli. Fishermen spotted the body and informed the police.
Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadarghat Navy Police Station, said, "The body of a worker who went missing in the Karnaphuli River has been recovered. After completing the necessary legal procedures, the body was handed over to the family. Further action was taken in line with standard procedures."

Navy police and locals said Riadul fell into the river on Sunday afternoon (4 January), while unloading fish from a vessel named FB Agro Food-4, owned by R-Resource Group, near Ichhanagar. He slipped and fell into the water during work.
Following the incident, divers from the Fire Service and the navy police conducted a rescue operation, but were unable to locate him at the time.
Resident Akram Hossain Rana said Riadul had been missing for nearly 77 hours before his body was recovered from the fishing nets.
