Two minor boys who had gone missing while visiting Durga puja at a temple were found dead in the Mathabhanga River of Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga district on Friday night (11 October).

The deceased were identified as Samiullah alias Tasif, 8, son of Saiful Islam and Huzaifa, 10, son of Humayun of Atharokhada village in the upazila.

Quoting local people, Goni Mia, officer-in-charge of Alamdanga Police Station, said Tasif and Huzaifa went the a temple to visit Durga Puja Friday afternoon.

As they did not return home till evening, family members of the two children started searching for them.

After a hectic search, their bodies were recovered from the river around 10:30pm.

On information, police recovered the bodies at night.

Police suspected that the children might have drowned in the river, said the OC.
