The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) flew a 1.5-year-old critically injured child from Feni's Parshuram to Dhaka on their helicopter for treatment.

Colonel Md Moinul Islam, deputy director of BGB's Air Wing, received news of Nazmul, the 1.5-year-old child, falling in the floodwaters while delivering relief materials at the flood shelter in Parshuram Pilot High School in the upazila last evening (24 August), said BGB PRO Shariful Islam.

The family members rescued the child in critical condition upon searching, he added.

Then Colonel Moinul immediately reached the spot and brought the child and his family to Tejgaon's old airport in Dhaka by helicopter.

The critically ill child was taken to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka via an army ambulance.

The child is currently in stable condition.

BGB has delivered 2000kg of relief materials from the Bangladesh Army through two helimissions using BGB helicopters in several shelters in Feni's Pashuram so far.
