BGB deploys 430 platoons nationwide for Durga Puja security
To prevent any untoward incidents, the BGB has also strengthened its intelligence surveillance and is conducting special patrols in border regions

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has deployed 430 platoons to ensure security for the upcoming Durga Puja, the largest religious festival of the Hindu community.
The troops will be providing security at a total of 2,857 puja mandaps across the country, including border areas and the capital, according to a BGB press release today (27 September).
Some 24 base camps have been established to maintain law and order throughout the festival. Of the mandaps under BGB's security, some 1,411 are located in border areas (within 8 kilometres of the border, including 15 mandaps in the hilly region), while 1,446 are situated in non-border areas.
The press release further specified the distribution of mandaps in non-border areas: 441 are in Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Gazipur city corporations; 694 are in Chattogram metropolitan, Raozan, and Rangunia; and 311 are in other locations.
To prevent any untoward incidents, the BGB has also strengthened its intelligence surveillance and is conducting special patrols in border regions.
BGB affirmed its commitment to working closely with local administrations and law enforcement agencies to ensure the public can celebrate Durga Puja peacefully and without any disruption.
