A sufficient number of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed at several important points in the capital for the state funeral arrangements, burial, and public tributes of former three-time prime minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.
The deployment covers strategic locations, including Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban, Evercare Hospital, and Zia Udyan, according to BGB.
Authorities said that the move aims to maintain security, ensure smooth movement of traffic, and prevent any untoward incidents.
Law enforcement agencies remain on alert, and security measures have been strengthened in the surrounding areas.
Khaleda Zia passed away at Evercare Hospital this morning (30 December). After the Namaz-e-Janaza, scheduled to be held at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 2pm tomorrow, she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, at Zia Udyan.
