'Beautiful Bangladesh Run Season-2' on 25 April at Hatirjheel
More than 1,000 runners from various professions, including those associated with the country’s aviation and tourism sectors, are expected to participate
The "Beautiful Bangladesh Run 2026 (Season-2)" is set to take place on Saturday (25 April) at Hatirjheel in the capital, organised by the Aviation and Tourism Journalists Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB).
Like last year, Rhythm Group is the title sponsor of the event, while the Bangladesh Tourism Board is powering the initiative.
A press conference was held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka today (23 April) to announce details of the event.
The run will begin at 6am from Police Plaza at Hatirjheel, featuring a 7.5-kilometre main run and a 2-kilometre fun run.
More than 1,000 runners from various professions, including those associated with the country's aviation and tourism sectors, are expected to participate.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Rashiduzzaman Millat is expected to attend the event as the chief guest and distribute prizes among the winners.
ATJFB Joint Secretary and Race Director of the event, Shafiullah Sumon, along with General Secretary Baten Biplob, briefed journalists on the overall arrangements.
"This event will not be limited to just the run. We will make every effort to turn it into a festival. In addition to the winners, all participants will have the chance to win attractive prizes through a raffle draw. Moreover, there will be a photo contest featuring participants' medal moments after the run," he added.
ATJFB President Tanzim Anwar said the main objective of the event is to promote Bangladesh's aviation and tourism sectors.
"This mega event will highlight the potential of these two promising sectors. Previously, ATJFB organised several successful tourism festivals as part of its social responsibility. This run is a continuation of those efforts," he added.
Ironman Ferdousi Akter Mariya and Dr Nasrin Akter Shimu will serve as ambassadors for the event. Footballer Mamunul Islam Mamun, Jannatul Ferdous Mitu and Atikur Rahman will join as guest runners.
The event is being supported by a number of organisations, including US-Bangla Airlines, Novoair, Air Astra, Seven Rings Cement, Manipal Hospitals, Ethiopian Airlines, Air India, American Tourister, Upside Bangladesh, UCR, Jersey Logo, Sports Bangla, Tourist Police Bangladesh, TOAB, Active Electrolyte Drinks, Dhaka WASA, Famous Specialised Hospital and Famous Creation.
