BCG rescues 90 wedding guests from sinking trawler

On Monday evening, a trawler carrying 90 wedding guests from Kanakhali under Paikgachha police station in the Khulna district collided with a lighter ship and sank near Kalibari Kheya Ghat.
The Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) promptly acted to ensure the safe rescue of all passengers.
The accident occurred at approximately 8:30 pm when the trawler, en route to Arakkhali village under Dakop police station, struck the lighter ship, causing all passengers to float in the water.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a BCG rescue team from Outpost Nalian under the West Zone quickly arrived by boat. With the help of locals, the rescue team successfully saved all 90 passengers alive in a short period.
The rescued passengers were grateful to the Coast Guard for their swift and effective response. Following the rescue, the wedding guests continued their journey to their destination on another trawler.
