Bangladeshis in Iraq asked to stay alert
The embassy will remain open 24/7 to extend consular services to the expatriates and everyone has been requested to extend cooperation.
The Bangladesh Embassy in Baghdad has requested all Bangladeshis living in Iraq to stay alert and avoid traveling to troublesome areas in the country, considering the ongoing insecure situation triggered after the death of Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani.
The embassy also requested Bangladeshis to refrain from attending any gatherings, rallies, and meetings and instructed to stay cautious to avoid any untoward incident, according to a statement issued by the embassy on Friday.

The statement came hours after a US airstrike in Iraq killed Iran's most powerful military commander major general Qasem Soleimani at the Baghdad airport early on Friday.
Earlier, tension gained momentum in Baghdad after the US bombing that killed several fighters of a militia backed by Iran.
On Tuesday last, protesters attacked the US embassy in Baghdad. They were later withdrawn after two days of an intense standoff.
