Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) Chairman Mustaque Hassan Thursday announced that 100 industrial parks will be set up on 40,000 acres of land across the country within the next 20 years.

He made the announcement at the inauguration programme of month-long BSIC Industries and Products Fair 2021 at Altafunnesa Field of Bogura city.

BSCIC Chairman noted that half the 40,000-acre land will be given to domestic investors. "The rest of the spaces will be given to foreign investors to build industrial factories," he added.

He also remarked that the first park will be set up in Bogura.

"BSCIC has decided to set up large-scale industrial parks across the country in its new capacity. The first will be established in Bogura," he said.

According to BSCIC sources, efforts are being made to build an agro-based industrial city in Bogura. The concerned department has talked with the deputy commissioner of Bogura in this regard.

Apart from Bogura, 80 stalls from different districts of the country including Naogaon, Gaibandha, Rangpur, Joypurhat and Sirajganj has taken part in the fair. It will continue every day from 9 am to 10 pm.
