Bangladesh condemns Israeli military aggression in Gaza, calls for immediate ceasefire
Bangladesh urges Israel to immediately cease all military operations, exercise maximum restraint, and respect its obligations under international humanitarian law

The government of Bangladesh has strongly condemned the resumption of Israeli military aggression in the Gaza Strip, expressing deep concern over the escalating violence that has led to the deaths of innocent civilians, including women and children.
The renewed attacks have further exacerbated the already dire humanitarian crisis in the region, reads a Ministry of Foreign Affairs press release issued today (19 March).
Bangladesh denounced the continuous Israeli airstrikes on densely populated civilian areas, calling them a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and established ceasefire agreements.
The government urged Israel to immediately cease all military operations, exercise maximum restraint, and uphold its obligations under international law.
Bangladesh also called upon the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take urgent and decisive action to stop the hostilities, protect civilian lives, and ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Reaffirming its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, Bangladesh reiterated its stance on the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine along pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The government further emphasised the importance of resuming diplomatic efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the Middle East, which it considers crucial for regional and global stability. Bangladesh urged all parties involved to prioritize diplomacy and peaceful negotiations over violence to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Bangladesh reaffirmed its commitment to working with the international community to find a durable solution to the Palestinian issue, in line with international law, UN resolutions, and the aspirations of the Palestinian people for peace, dignity, and justice.
