Bangla book on semiconductors launched, highlighting its potential in Bangladesh
Now everyone will know about semiconductors, the backbone of modern tech, says Ulkasemi CEO, while launching the book

A Bangla book on semiconductors, 'The Advancement of Technology: Semiconductors and Bangladesh's Potential,' was officially unveiled today (5 September), aiming to introduce this essential technology component to all segments of society.
The book is authored by Mohammad Enayetur Rahman, a pioneer of Bangladesh's semiconductor industry and CEO & president of Ulkasemi, according to a press release issued by Ulkasemi yesterday.
Ulkasemi is a semiconductor design services company based in Bangladesh, founded in 2007.
Semiconductors, the backbone of modern technology, have remained largely unknown to the general public in Bangladesh, with awareness mostly limited to electronic engineering students and faculty.
Published by Student-Ways, this is the first comprehensive book written in Bangla on the present and future of the country's semiconductor industry, according to the press release.
It covers contemporary issues, the basics of semiconductor technology, its significance in the global industry, and outlines a visionary roadmap for Bangladesh. For engineering students and professionals, it provides extensive guidance based on international experiences.
At the book launch event, held at Rahman's Regnum Centre in the capital's Tejgaon area, author Enayetur Rahman said, "When I look at our neighbouring countries, I don't just see competition; I see a plan of action. There is no reason why Bangladesh cannot achieve similar success. Our talented students are the key to building that future, supported by their teachers and parents. This book is for everyone."
The event was attended by Md Yousup Faruqu, country managing director of Microsoft for Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal; Arifa Chowdhury Rahman, chairperson of Ulkasemi.
Also present were faculty members, including Bobby Barua from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), Shahriyar Masud Rizvi from American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), Mainul Hossain from University of Dhaka, alongside students, technology experts, young tech enthusiasts, and senior officials of Ulkasemi.
Modern technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), heavily rely on semiconductor chips. Ulkasemi is working on these future-defining technologies.
The company has built a strong team of 550 skilled Bangladeshi engineers and is working toward transforming the nation's semiconductor industry into a multi-billion-dollar market by 2030.
