BADC chairman stresses fair, transparent seed distribution
The Seed Distribution Division of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) organised a two-day workshop on the distribution strategy for Boro paddy, wheat, and potato seeds for the 2025–26 Rabi season.
The event was held on 14–15 September at BADC's headquarters seminar hall, with participation from field-level seed distribution officers and representatives from various departments at the head office.
Speaking as the chief guest, BADC Chairman (Grade 1) Md Ruhul Amin Khan stated that BADC and the country's agricultural system are deeply interlinked. "It is nearly impossible to build an effective agricultural system without BADC's role. The organisation has a proud history of ensuring quality seed supply to farmers," he said.
He stressed that timely measures must be taken to make seed distribution more effective and sustainable. "Farmers should not face harassment, deprivation, or discrimination in accessing quality seeds. All concerned must perform their duties with efficiency, accountability, and transparency," he added.
