Australia to issue visas for Bangladeshis from Dhaka from now
Previously, visas for Bangladeshi nationals were processed through Australia’s High Commission in New Delhi

Australia has decided to process visas for Bangladeshi citizens directly from its High Commission in Dhaka from now.
Australian Home Minister Tony Burke called by phone and informed Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury about the matter today (20 March), according to the Chief Adviser's Press Wing.
The decision would be effective immediately, the adviser told the Advisory Council during a meeting today.
Previously, visas for Bangladeshi nationals were processed through Australia's High Commission in New Delhi.
The press wing statement noted that Australia's decision came after Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus made the request to Burke when he visited Bangladesh in October last year.
