Asif Mahmud vows to exemplify honesty, responsibility and good governance

Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives (LGRD) Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain today (24 May) said they would set an example of honesty, trustworthiness and good governance.
In a post on his verified Facebook page, Asif Mahmud expressed his determination to establish a benchmark of honesty and integrity.
"We aim to set an example of honesty, responsibility, and good governance that others will be inspired to follow," he wrote.
Underscoring his stance against corruption, the Adviser revealed that he personally requested the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to investigate allegations against his former assistant private secretary (APS).
He also said that his ministry has been directed to fully cooperate with the ACC during the investigation process.
"No matter whoever he or she might be, will face action for involvement in corruption as per the country's law, as the post-July Bangladesh is committed in doing so," he said.
He expressed confidence in the impartiality and professionalism of constitutional institutions, stating that their role is crucial in advancing the vision of a "New Bangladesh."
"Since the very beginning, an attempt has been underway to create a misperception about me for political purposes. But the truth and moral courage are important to me," he said.
The adviser hoped that the ACC would conduct the investigation impartially and honestly and the truth would come out.
