Army finds secret hideout of UPDF in Rangamati, seizes ammo, equipment
Army patrol recovered a pistol, 17 rounds of pistol ammunition, a binocular, several walkie-talkie sets, a hard disk, miscreants uniforms, extortion receipts, and various other equipment from the hideout

Bangladesh Army conducted a special operation against top-tier miscreants of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) (Main) in Rangamati's Kaukhali area this morning (7 March).
During the operation, based on specific intelligence, the army patrol discovered a secret hideout of the UPDF (Main) Regional Armed Group, says a press release from the army.
The release said the miscreants quickly fled the scene, sensing the presence of army personnel. Upon conducting a search, the army patrol recovered a pistol, 17 rounds of pistol ammunition, a binocular, several walkie-talkie sets, a hard disk, miscreants uniforms, extortion receipts, and various other equipment from the hideout.
"Mentionable that during the operation, UPDF [Main] attempted to obstruct the operation by employing their usual tactics — mobilising a group of tribal women to stage protests and trying to snatch seized ammunition and equipment," read the release.
It said despite such provocative actions, the army exercised utmost patience and professionalism, successfully bringing the situation under control.
"Additionally, it is important to mention that, just a few days ago, several consignments of arms and ammunition belonging to different armed groups from the hill tracts were intercepted by law enforcement agencies of a neighbouring country. This development was later reported in various news media," read the release.
It said the army will continue its operations against all regional armed groups who threaten peace in the hill tracts and pose a risk to national sovereignty.
