All sites with betting, porn ads to be instantly blocked from tomorrow
All intelligence and regulatory agencies are working jointly, including CID, BTRC, NCSA, NTMC, NSI, and BFIU, to enforce this directive

The interim government has warned that starting tomorrow (19 October) any website, news portal, or electronic media platform found publishing advertisements or promotional content related to gambling, betting, or pornography will be blocked without any prior notice.
The move comes as the government notes a recent surge in such content across online platforms, mobile applications, social media, and electronic media, which it deems to be in violation of the Cyber Security Ordinance 2025 and the Pornography Control Act 2012, constituting a punishable offence.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology today (18 October), the government confirmed that it has already issued multiple circulars and press releases urging platforms to refrain from such activities, while acknowledging that some major publications, including ESPN Cricinfo, Daily Janakantha, and Dhaka Post, have already modified their advertising practices (Google AdSense) following earlier state warnings, and expressed gratitude for their compliance.
The notification emphasised that the government will continue to take maximum caution and strict measures to keep the country's cyberspace safe, ethical, and "pro-generation".
The warning confirms that several key intelligence and regulatory agencies — including the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre (NTMC), National Security Intelligence (NSI), and Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) — are jointly working to enforce this directive.
