Leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir and Hefazat-e-Islam also joined the demonstration, expressing solidarity with the Students Against Discrimination

As part of the 'March for Ban Awami League' campaign, members of the Students Against Discrimination (SAD), alongside members of various political organisations, in Rajshahi held a sit-in protest today (9 May) demanding the trial and ban of what they described as the "genocidal and fascist" Awami League.
Starting around 2:30pm, protesters from various areas marched towards Talaimari Mor in Rajshahi city, where they began their sit-in. It ended at 3:30pm.
Leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir and Hefazat-e-Islam also joined the demonstration, expressing solidarity with the Students Against Discrimination.
During the protest, demonstrators chanted slogans calling for the ban of the Awami League.
Mahir Islam, former coordinator of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement at Rajshahi University, said, "The Awami League is being given a safe exit under the guise of judicial process. We will not accept this under any circumstances."
Faisal, general secretary of Islami Chhatra Shibir at Rajshahi University, said, "This government, soaked in the blood of July, is now stalling when it comes to banning the Awami League. We will never accept such a delay."
