Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Shafiqul Islam has warned the members of the DMP saying that stern action will be taken against them if they are found to have any links with criminals.

Shafiqul said this at the monthly crime review meeting of the DMP held at Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh on Monday morning.

"We've overcome the Covid-19 situation. Now we have to work hard to provide complete information of criminals to our database. Failure to do so will result in the exclusion of police officers from the investigation," said the commissioner.

The commissioner also said that they would cooperate with families of drug addicts in every way to help drug addicts get back to normal life.

"If needed, arrangements will be made to send them to correctional facilities. However, even then, if the drug addicts are not corrected, legal action will be taken against them," he said.

The DMP commissioner handed over prizes to the winners in various categories in recognition of their excellent work at the monthly crime review meeting of last month.

DMP's Additional Commissioner of Police (CTTC) Monirul Islam, Additional Commissioner of Police (Admin) Mir Rezaul Alam, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) Krishna Pada Roy, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
