ACFE Bangladesh Chapter elects first executive committee to lead anti-fraud efforts

The Bangladesh Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) recently held its first-ever election successfully, forming a new executive committee to lead anti-fraud efforts in the country for the 2025-2027 term.
Held on 12 July, the election marks a significant milestone in promoting ethical leadership, professional governance, and institutional integrity in Bangladesh's fight against fraud and white-collar crime, according to a press release.
The newly elected committee members are President Mohammed Iqbal Hossain, Vice President and Training Director Mohammad Salim Kabir, Secretary General Miftahul Zannat, Treasurer Saad Mahmud, Deputy Secretary and Communication Director Md Jamshed Ahmed, and Assistant Training Director Arif Mahmood.
The election was conducted with full transparency and independence, in strict adherence to the ACFE Bylaws and Code of Ethics. A neutral and competent Election Commission oversaw the process, ensuring a fair and impartial outcome.
A spokesperson for the chapter expressed optimism about the road ahead, saying, "We are committed to reducing fraud and white-collar crime in Bangladesh and building a strong anti-fraud community through education, capacity-building, and ethical advocacy."
The ACFE Bangladesh Chapter aims to collaborate with both public and private sectors to raise awareness and strengthen institutional capacity in detecting, preventing, and responding to fraud.
The new leadership team brings together a wealth of experience from various disciplines, positioning the Chapter as a pivotal force in advancing anti-fraud initiatives across the country.
