Accused escapes stabbing CID official in Sylhet

An accused in a cybercrime case fled police custody after stabbing an officer of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Sagardighi Par in Sylhet city at midnight (9 December).
The victim, Khurshed Alam, a sub-inspector of CID, was admitted to Osmani Medical College and Hospital.
Sugyan Chakma, superintendent of Sylhet CID, said a team of CID in plainclothes conducted a drive to arrest the warranted criminal in Sylhet city tonight.

Mainul Zakir, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said efforts are on to arrest the accused.
