ACC recovers Tk16 lakh, Tk4cr worth savings bonds and insurance papers from SK Sur's residence
In addition, cheque books of 27 bank accounts were seized during the raid

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has recovered Tk16 lakh in cash and documents related to savings certificates and insurance policies worth Tk4 crore from the residence of former Bangladesh Bank deputy governor Sitanshu Kumar Sur Chowdhury, known as SK Sur.
"ACC conducted a raid today [19 January] at SK Sur's Dhanmondi residence and recovered the assets," the commission's Director Kazi Saemuzzaman told The Business Standard.
"In addition, cheque books of 27 bank accounts were seized during the raid," he added.
Saemuzzaman further said they informed the Bangladesh Bank to prevent him from withdrawing any gold from his locker in the bank.
Sur also owns two other flats in West Rampura and Segunbagicha, he said.
On 13 January, ACC arrested Sur on corruption charges from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The arrest follows an ACC case filed on 23 December last year against SK Sur, his wife Suparna Sur Chowdhury, and daughter Nandita Sur Chowdhury for failing to submit their wealth statements within the stipulated time.
SK Sur has been under scrutiny for his alleged links to Prashanta Kumar Haldar, widely known as PK Halder.
