8th Bangladesh Buildcon, Wood, and ElproTech Expo kicks off at ICCB
The three-day International Trade Shows for Building & Construction, Wood and Woodworking, and Electrical Expo kicked off yesterday, bringing together approximately 100 companies from around the world to showcase world-class products and cutting-edge technologies under one roof.
This year's event includes three separate exhibitions: the 8th International Building and Construction Industry Trade Show, 'Bangladesh Buildcon Expo 2025'; the 8th International 'Bangladesh Wood Expo 2025'; and the 3rd International Electrical Trade Show, 'Bangladesh ElproTech Expo 2025', reads a press release.
The Expo, held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), is open daily from 11am to 7pm.
The event, organised by ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd and Futurex Trade Fair and Events Pvt Ltd, also marked the official launch of ICCB's 'Expo Village,' the largest commercial expo tent in Bangladesh.
Engr Mohammad Abu Sadeque, executive director of the Centre for Housing and Building Research (HBRC), who attended as the chief guest, said, "There is no alternative to ensuring sustainable development other than improving product quality. Exhibitions like this play a vital role in research and help enhance product quality."
He further stated "Additionally, domestic companies get an opportunity to compare their products with world-class standards through such exhibitions."
The inauguration ceremony was attended by other notable figures like MM Jasim Uddin, COO of ICCB, as the special guest. Nandagopal K and Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan from ASK were also present.
MM Jasim Uddin highlighted the role of foreign investment in Bangladesh's industrial development, stating, "Foreign investment is essential for the industrial development of Bangladesh. Bringing together major export companies from China and other parts of the world under one roof will make the path to such investment smoother. ICCB's Expo Village is thus an innovative initiative that works for the nation's interest and welfare."
Tipu Sultan Bhuiyan, representing the organising body, noted, "Through this exhibition, visitors can easily explore and select world-class products under one roof. At the same time, our event serves as an excellent opportunity for local companies to procure products from foreign suppliers."
The exhibition displays a wide range of materials, including architectural and building hardware, autoclaves, abrasive tools, flap discs, FRP manhole covers, and various electrical equipment like fibre laser marking and cutting machines, CNC routers, and embroidery machines.
