From RMG to jute – Bangladesh sees big trade potential at Florida World Fest
Country aims to build stronger trade links with Latin America and the US

Bangladesh is set to showcase its strengths in the global marketplace at the 7th World Fair and Fest 2026, scheduled for October 24–25 in Florida, USA.
The Association of World Fair and Fest will host the fair in Tampa.
Organisers from Bangladesh affiliated with the association say the event presents a major opportunity for the country to expand its exports — particularly ready-made garments (RMG), handicrafts, jute, and pharmaceuticals — while building stronger trade links with Latin America and the US.
In a press conference held at the Dhaka Reporters Unity today, the organisers shared details of the upcoming fair. They highlighted that this year's main focus will be on the global trade show and exhibition, where Bangladesh's apparel industry will receive special attention.
Efforts are underway to ensure the participation of buyers from Chile, Brazil, and other Latin American countries. The event will also feature a business summit, B2B networking sessions, and a youth summit.
In addition to trade, the fest will host cultural showcases including a food festival, art and craft exhibitions, and international performances from participating countries.
A representative of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) said, "Especially after the resolution of US tariff issues, new opportunities have opened for Bangladesh in the US market. Not just our main products [RMG], but handicrafts, jute, pharmaceuticals, and other goods can also make inroads."
Organising Committee Convener Atikur Rahman sought media support to highlight Bangladesh's participation, saying coverage would help bring businesses, culture, and youth engagement into the spotlight.
"We believe the 7th World Fest in 2026 will be a historic international event where Bangladesh will proudly present itself to the world," he said.
The press conference was attended by Organising Chairman Zulfiqar Ali, Director Kazi Zahidul Islam, Bangladesh Jute Mills Association President Abul Hossain, FBCCI representatives, and other partner organisations.
