6 illegally made election seals recovered, press owner arrested in Lakshmipur
The arrestee told police that he had made the seals following an order.
Police in Lakshmipur have arrested a press owner along with six illegally made election seals.
The arrested person was identified as Sohel Rana, the owner of Mariam Printers.
Based on a tip-off, Sadar police raided the press and recovered six illegally made election seals, confirmed Additional District Police Superintendent (Administration and Finance) Hosain Mohammad Raihan Kazemi.
Police also seized a mobile phone and a computer during the operation.
Executive Magistrate Hasan Mahmud Nahid visited the spot after being informed and later confiscated the seals, mobile phone, and computer, taking Sohel to the police station.
Sohel told police that he had made the seals on order, but did not disclose who had placed the request. He is a resident of Tumchar Union in Sadar Upazila and the owner of Mariam Press.
Executive Magistrate Hasan Mahmud Nahid said, "This is illegal, and a case will be filed against the accused."
