4 workers burnt in Ctg gas cylinder blast shifted to burn institute in Dhaka
A resident surgeon at the NIBPS said Mahbubur suffered burns over 50% of his body, Idris Ali 70%, Riaz Uddin 60%, and Yusuf Ali 55%

Four workers who sustained severe burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast in Chandanaish Upazila of Chattogram district yesterday (17 September) were shifted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) in Dhaka early this morning (18 September).
The victims are Mahbubur Rahman, 45, Idris Ali, 27, Riaz Uddin, 20, and Yusuf Ali, 32. All are residents of Baltoli village in Chandanaish Upazila.
Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the NIBPS, said Mahbubur suffered burns over 50% of his body, Idris Ali 70%, Riaz Uddin 60%, and Yusuf Ali 55%.
As they were brought in a critical condition, all of them were referred to the intensive care unit after initial emergency treatment, said the physician.
Arif Hossain, who accompanied them to the hospital, said the blast occurred at around 6am yesterday when the workers were storing gas cylinders in a warehouse.
Locals rescued and sent them to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, he said.
As their condition worsened, physicians suggested shifting them to Dhaka for advanced care, Arif added.
