4 more suspected measles deaths, 787 hospitalised in 24 hours: DGHS
98 suspected measles deaths reported in 20 days
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today (4 April) reported that a total of 16 children have died from confirmed measles infections so far this year, while 98 children have died with suspected measles symptoms.
In the last 24 hours, from 8am yesterday to 8am today, four suspected measles-related deaths were recorded.
During the same period, 787 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals, while 60 cases were confirmed as measles.
According to DGHS data compiled since 15 March, a total of 826 measles cases have been lab-confirmed between 15 March and 4 April.
Over the same period, the number of confirmed deaths has reached 16.
According to the latest health bulletin issued today, a total of 6,476 suspected measles cases have been identified nationwide, while 2,654 patients have already been discharged after receiving treatment.
