3 killed in separate bike accidents on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in less than 24 hours

Three people were killed in separate motorcycle-related accidents on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway at Sreenagar and Sirajdikhan upazilas in Munshiganj between last night (25 April) and this morning (26 April).
The first accident took place when a bike lost its control and ran over a pedestrian in the Somashpur area in Sreenagar around 6pm yesterday.
The deceased was later identified as Payel, 45.
Then, at around 3am today, a truck hit a motorcycle in the Hashara area on the expressway and killed the rider, identified as 27-year-old Alimul from Rangpur, on the spot.
Later this morning, another bike lost its control and crashed into the divider of the service lane on the expressway in the Nimtola area. The rider was killed on the spot as well.
Sreenagar Fire Service and Civil Defence official Dewan Azad Hossain confirmed the incidents and casualties.
A person who was injured in the Hashara crash was undergoing treatment at the local upazila health complex, he added.
Meanwhile, Highway Police said the damaged vehicles have been removed from the expressway and vehicular movement is currently normal.
