27 more freed on bail in BDR mutiny explosives case

Twenty-seven more individuals imprisoned in connection with the BDR mutiny under the Explosives Control Act were released on bail from the Kashimpur Central Jail today (15 May).
Mohammad Al Mamun, jail superintendent of the Kashimpur High Security Central Jail, confirmed the release.
He said 12 were released from the high-security facility, five from Kashimpur Central Jail Part-1, and 10 from Part-2.
According to sources, a court granted bail to 40 accused in the case on 12 May.
Earlier, 178 individuals who had been acquitted in the murder case related to the mutiny were granted bail in the explosives case. With the latest releases, the total number of individuals granted bail in connection with the incident has risen to 218.
Mohammad Al Mamun, jail superintendent of the Kashimpur High-Security Central Jail, said that the bail documents for 27 former BDR members arrived at the three jails in Gazipur on yesterday afternoon. After verifying the paperwork, the authorities released them today.
