Govt allocates flats to families of 70 BDR mutiny, UN peacekeeping mission victims
A total of 156 flats have been built in two residential buildings at Mirpur DOHS under the initiative, the release said.
The government has allocated flats to 70 families of martyred and seriously injured military personnel, including victims of the BDR mutiny and UN peacekeeping missions.
Defence Secretary Md Ashraf Uddin handed over the flat allocation letters to the family members at a ceremony held at the conference room of the Ministry of Defence here today, said a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate this afternoon.
The flats are located in the "Aparajita" multistorey residential complex at Mirpur DOHS, constructed with government approval under the supervision of the DOHS Central Committee.

Officials from the Ministry of Defence, the Directorate of Military Lands and Cantonments, Army Headquarters and Senakalyan Constructions and Developments Limited (SKCD), along with the beneficiary families, attended the ceremony.
The programme paid profound tribute to military personnel who sacrificed their lives or sustained serious injuries while performing their duties during the Pilkhana BDR mutiny, UN peacekeeping missions and various other operational and non-operational activities.
Special prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the departed souls, while condolences were conveyed to the bereaved families, the release added.
