20 trafficking victims repatriated from Myanmar to reach Ctg on 15 April
Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar M Monwar Hossain urged all to exercise caution when travelling abroad for employment opportunities and advised against falling prey to suspicious or deceptive job offers.

Twenty Bangladeshi citizens, victims of trafficking, today (13 April) left Yangon for Bangladesh from the MITT Port in Myanmar.
They are expected to reach Chattogram on 15 April, Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar M Monwar Hossain said.

These minor boys were being trafficked by unscrupulous agents to Malaysia, and on their way, Myanmar law enforcement agencies captured them for illegal trespassing.
Following negotiations with relevant Myanmar authorities and verification of their Bangladeshi nationality, the embassy has arranged repatriation.
They had been incarcerated in Myanmar for the past few months, said the Bangladesh Embassy in Yangon.
In the same ship, the 55-member SAR and Medical team, who provided humanitarian assistance to the earthquake-affected people of Myanmar for 10 days, also left Yangon.
Ambassador Hossain appreciated the members of the SAR team for raising Bangladesh's image in Myanmar through their activities.
The ambassador was present at the port during the handover process of the 20 Bangladeshi youths.
In his brief remarks, Hossain said the embassy has been relentlessly working to send back verified Bangladeshi nationals from Myanmar who illegally entered the country.
He mentioned the recent repatriation of Bangladeshi nationals from the scam centres of Myanmar.
Over the past two years, the Bangladesh Embassy in Myanmar facilitated the repatriation of 352 Bangladeshi nationals.
The last repatriation took place on 28 September 2024 when 85 Bangladeshis returned home.
Officers of the Bangladesh Embassy were also present at the port to coordinate with the Myanmar authorities, conduct verification and issue Travel Permits in favour of the returnees.
Bangladesh Navy Ship BNS Somudra Avijan arrived in Yangon on 11 April carrying 120 metric tonnes of humanitarian assistance for the earthquake affected people of Myanmar.
The ship is expected to reach Chattogram on 15 April.
