16 CMP officials, including Commissioner Hasib Aziz, nominated for medals at Police Week 2025

Sixteen officials of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) have been nominated for different medals and badges at the Police Week 2025. 

The announcement was made during a formal event held at Rajarbagh Police Lines in Dhaka today (29 April). 

CMP Commissioner Hasib Aziz has been nominated for the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) in recognition of his exemplary service, courageous leadership, and contributions to policing.

Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md Asfiquzzaman Akhtar has also been nominated for the BPM in the same category. 

The medals honour police personnel for their acts of bravery, innovation, successful investigation of complex cases, outstanding professionalism, and discipline over the period from 11 January 2024 to 28 February 2025.

A total of 60 police personnel across four award categories—Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM), BPM Service, President Police Medal (PPM), and PPM Service—have been selected to receive these honours.

In other categories, Inspector Md Fazlul Kader Chowdhury, serving in CMP's Detective Branch (DB), has been nominated for the BPM Service award, while SI Rasib Khan from CMP's Counter Terrorism Unit has been nominated for the President Police Medal (PPM).

Additionally, 12 police personnel from CMP have been nominated for the Police Force Exemplary Good Service Badge 2024, for their consistent commitment to duty and excellence in service. 

The nominees are: Md Jahangir, additional deputy commissioner (North); Md Solaiman, officer-in-charge, Panchlaish Model Police Station; Md Babul Azad, officer-in-charge, Pahartali Police Station; Md Aftab Uddin, officer-in-charge, Chandgaon Police Station; Md Abdul Karim, officer-in-charge, Kotwali Police Station; Md Rubel Afrad, inspector (Investigation), Kotwali Police Station; SI Ahlad Ibne Jamil, PPM, Double Mooring Police Station; SI (Unarmed) Md Ziaul Haque; ASI Dewan Md Hossain, SWAT Team, CTTC Unit; Constable Md Zakir Hossain; Constable Rana Hamid; and Constable Md Imran.
