1.5 crore jobs to be created if BNP comes to power: Fakhrul
Job opportunities will be created for 1.5 crore people in the country within 18 months if the BNP come to power in the next election, the party's Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said today (24 January).
"It's the pledge of our party chairman, Tarique Rahman, to create jobs for 1.5 crore people," he said while addressing an election rally in Sadar Upazila of Thakurgaon district this afternoon.
Mirza Fakhrul, also the BNP's candidate from Thakurgaon-1 constituency, said under the plan, a family card scheme will be introduced for women, which will be an effective tool for their poverty alleviation.
"With this card, women will directly benefit to meet the daily needs of their families," he said.
Mentioning that agricultural cards will be introduced for farmers, Fakhrul said farmers will get various facilities through the cards.
Besides, he assured that easy and affordable healthcare services would be ensured for commoners through health cards.
About the upcoming parliamentary election, BNP secretary general said the polls will be held on 12 February next to restore democracy in the country.
"I request you to vote for 'sheaf of paddy'. If you support me, I will try to speak for the people in the parliament," he said.
"If elected, I assure you to work with utmost sincerity for the development of rural people and ensuring the safety of people of all religions in Bangladesh," he said.
