13th national polls: EC lists 12.8cr voters with 6.5cr men, 6.3cr women
The list also includes 1,120 hijra (third-gender) voters
Ahead of the 13th parliamentary election, the Election Commission has released constituency-wise voter statistics.
A total of 12.8 crore voters will be eligible to cast their ballots in the 12 February parliamentary election and referendum.
According to the data, 6.5 crore are male, while 6.3 crore are female. In addition, the list also includes 1,120 hijra (third-gender) voters.
The Election Commission has already started publishing the constituency-wise list of polling centres.
The list includes the names and locations of polling centres, as well as the number of male, female and hijra voters for each constituency.
For the first time, it also includes the number of voters registered under the postal ballot system.
An analysis of the constituency-wise voter figures sent by the Election Commission's Public Relations Wing shows that Jhalokathi-1 has the lowest number of voters, with 2.3 lakh, while Gazipur-2 has the highest, with 8.4 lakh.
