132 killed in 110 road accidents during 8-day Eid vacation: BRTA
This year’s Eid holiday saw fewer road fatalities compared to last year, when 230 people died during Eid-ul-Azha in June and 320 during Eid-ul-Fitr in April

At least 132 people were killed and 208 others injured in 110 road accidents across Bangladesh during the eight-day Eid-ul-Fitr vacation, according to the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA).
Official data shows that between 28 March and 4 April, Dhaka Division witnessed the highest number of casualties, with 32 fatalities from 27 road accidents. This is also the highest number of accidents in any region during the holidays.
The nine-day Eid holiday began on 28 March and ended on 5 April. Road crashes around the Eid holidays have become a recurring concern every year, and this year was no exception.

In comparison to previous Eid holidays, this year saw fewer deaths.
According to BRTA, during the Eid-ul-Azha holiday in June last year (11–23 June), 230 people died and 301 were injured in 235 accidents across the country.
The Eid-ul-Fitr holiday in April last year (4–20 April) witnessed 320 deaths and 462 injuries from 286 road accidents over a span of 17 days.
A breakdown of this year's report reveals that the highest number of road accidents occurred on Eid day itself, 31 March, when 18 crashes led to 24 deaths.
The day after Eid (1 April) saw 19 deaths, followed by 22 fatalities on 2 April.
One of the deadliest incidents took place on 2 April in Lohagara Upazila of Chattogram, where a collision between a microbus and a bus claimed 11 lives.
After Dhaka, Chattogram Division recorded the second-highest number of deaths, with 31 people killed.
Other divisions with notable death tolls include Khulna (23), Rajshahi (14), Rangpur (11), and Mymensingh (10).
Sylhet and Barishal reported the lowest fatalities, with five and six deaths, respectively.
