No fears over voting in national election: Home adviser

Home Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said there is no concern over voting in the upcoming national parliamentary election, adding that the administration and law enforcement agencies are fully prepared to ensure a peaceful, credible and participatory poll.
"There is no concern of any kind regarding voting in this election. The administration and law enforcement agencies are prepared to deliver a peaceful, acceptable and participatory election," he said while speaking to journalists after an exchange meeting on law and order related to the national election and referendum at the Faridpur Deputy Commissioner's office today (10 February).

Responding to a question about whether a fair election would be possible given the existing law and order situation, the home adviser said, "We have taken the necessary preparations according to the requirements of each area. This was also discussed at today's exchange meeting. From the way the administration in Faridpur has arranged the election environment, we believe a very good and fair election will be held. We do not see any concern over voting here."
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Ghani, the chief adviser's special assistant, the DIG of Dhaka Range, the director general of BGB, Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Md Kamrul Hasan Molla, along with deputy commissioners and superintendents of police from five districts, and senior officials from the field administration, intelligence agencies and law enforcement attended the high-level law and order committee meeting.
