He said that at critical moments in Bangladesh’s history, people have repeatedly placed their trust in one political party – the BNP
The upcoming national election is vital to restoring democracy, public ownership of the state, and the political and constitutional rights of the people of Bangladesh, said BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Saturday (7 February).
"Through this election, an elected parliament and an elected government will be formed, which will be accountable to the people. This is how the people of Bangladesh will regain their ownership of the country. That is why this vote is extremely important," he said while speaking at an election rally at Fatikchhari Government College ground in Chattogram.
He said that at critical moments in Bangladesh's history, people have repeatedly placed their trust in one political party – the BNP.
Highlighting future plans, Amir Khasru said BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman had presented a roadmap for the country, taking into account the aspirations of the new generation, women and people from all walks of life.
"We will work together to implement this plan for the Bangladesh of the future," he added.
