BNP emerges victorious in all 3 Gopalganj seats
Winning margins ranged from a 7,000-vote edge in Gopalganj-2 to a 26,300-vote landslide in Gopalganj-3.
The BNP secured all three parliamentary seats in Gopalganj district in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, according to unofficial results announced late last night (12 February) by Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Md Arif-uz-Zaman after vote counting concluded.
In Gopalganj-1 (Muksudpur and part of Kashiani), BNP candidate Selimuzzaman Molla has been unofficially elected. He received 68,867 votes.
His closest competitor, Gano Odhikar Parishad candidate Md Kabir Mia, secured 53,961 votes with the 'truck' symbol.
In Gopalganj-2 (Sadar and part of Kashiani), BNP candidate KM Babar has been unofficially elected. He received 40,048 votes. His closest competitor, independent candidate MH Khan Manju, secured 33,039 votes with the 'deer' symbol.
In Gopalganj-3 (Tungipara and Kotalipara), BNP candidate SM Jilani has been unofficially elected by receiving 60,166 votes. His closest competitor, independent candidate Gobinda Chandra Pramanik of the Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mahajot, secured 33,867 votes with the 'horse' symbol.
