Pastors pray for Trump and US success in Iran war

Evangelical leaders gathered around Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Thursday (5 March) and prayed over him and for the US's success in the war against Iran.
Deputy Chief of Staff at the White House Dan Scavino posted a video on his X account showing President Trump held by pastors as they prayed.
It comes after reports that US personnel have allegedly been told by a commander that Trump "has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth", according to a religious freedom group that is dealing with complaints over this from service members, reports The Guardian.
On the same day of that report, US defence secretary Pete Hegseth, who is known for his embrace of Christian nationalism, described Iran as a "crazy regime" that is "hell-bent on prophetic Islamist delusions".
